is plaid still as rad in '10?

We've seen plaid in store-font windows and mannequins and on the 12 year old neighborhood kid pushing around his skateboard, so has this trend been overdone? Most would say yes, especially after the tartan plaid has saturated the american eagle's and the hot topics and the like. I was definitely one to fully embrace the plaid, when it first made it's appearance, or re-appearance after the grunge era, but is it still fashion forward and can you still make a statement fully clad or minimally accessorized in plaid? Let's take a look at a few ways to wear this and still look le magnifique and relevant in twentyten!

the look

I used this photo in a post a few weeks back, but while looking at other style sites and fashion blogs for inspiration, nothing seems to stand out to me more. I keep coming back to her and everytime, I'm as inspired and impressed by how effortlessly, cool and chic she looks. In my opinion, this is "the look." The end of the winter and as we transition into spring, this could be the perfect uniform, a light sweater, a printed scarf, slacks or pants and the quintessential bootie, or oxford -et voila!

2009 was a year of changes, connections and lost connections with friends near and far, new jobs and new experiences, move-ins and move-outs, the realization of on-going love, and most of all missing certain cities so much and missing the creativity and inspiration they once filled you with. Here's a look back at the great things in 2009 (some 07/08) that brought me huge inspirations, and hoping that this post and the resurfacing of certain things will open the flood gates of inspiration.

As the days pass, I'll be posting photos and tid-bits or stories of everything and anything that brings me any kind of inspiration. What inspires you?

B wears you well..

Sunny days and beach times are slowly coming to an end, but that doesn't mean you can't still look good! I've had my eyes on these sunglasses for a while now, and I still want them desperately. I don't know if my need for them is swayed by the fact that Beyonce sports them fabulously, or mainly because I have good taste (like Beyonce!) a little bit of both, I think.

Find the sunglasses here, along with a gazillion other cool items:

SJP all leathered up

So, it's been a long hiatus for us here at modeledeville, but we are back! I recently came across these pictures of SJP and was so excited by her outfit that I had to do a little post for all of you. I am in love with this oufit and she really looks beautiful, right?! Ellen Page on the other hand....! She's a freakin' teenager and she look older than Mrs. Parker. She need to get a stylist stat! Anyway, back to SJP, this outfit is fabulous and i'm going to try to recreate this look. Anyone care to join me...who will accept the challenge!?

7th on Sale with the Olsens

MK and Ashley at the Sevent on Sale Event tonight, Nov 15th! Seventh on Sale is a huge sample sale. Scores of fashion brands donate thousands of items and are sold on 7thonsale.ebay.com. Proceeds are used for services and housing for those living with HIV and AIDS.

What do you think of their outfits?! You know what I'm talking 'bout...MK's shoes! What about their choice to wear white?

a coat makes a man

D Collection Military for $128 at Urban Outfitters.
.

Triple 5 Soul for $279 at Urban Outfitters.

Classic peacoat in navy for $68 available at Old Navy.

Charcoal wool coat for $128 available at the GAP.

My personal favorite is the Triple 5 Soul coat, available at Urban Outfitters. It is the priciest but also the chicest! When it comes to a winter coat, it's all about fit and structure. A coat is a great investment. But if you're not ready to spend too much, go with the classic peacoat from Old Navy. At $68 dollars, you'll look fantastic....like a million bucks, and a little like Mr. Ventimiglia!

SJP filming Sex in the City! I can't wait to see more of these "Carrie" outfits!!! I don't really know what to think of the knee socks, but would I be totally crazy if I said I was starting to love them? haha

What do you think???
